My kick-ass job will definitely be hiring soon. One of our Vet Techs has decided that working at Olive Garden appeals to her more than doing something rewarding. Her loss, really. This will likely manifest itself as one of the Receptionists we've been cross-training being moved to Tech, and the Hospital hiring a new Receptionist, but who knows, they might want a Tech too. They're great at working around people's school schedules, and it's just generally a nice place to work.

Well, they're *always* excepting applications. Not in the "oh, we'll take it and stick it in a drawer" sort of way, but in a "if we find someone really fabu, we'll hope to get them to come in a few hours a week and then give them more work when it's available. So you should definitely go down and toss in your resume.

Any idea how much they might pay? (Sorry, I have to ask that whoreish question. I couldn't help it.)

Not a clue what the receptionist-types get. I know back in the tech-land, it depends on experience, and people get anywhere from $7 and hour to $15, with regular performance reviews and raises and such. Plus, nearly free animal care.

Thereabouts as in, at the vet hospital i work for? We have an Amy there, but she's just graduating high school, so i'm guessing the answer is no.

Hey, when I lived in Mpls, I was an AAFCO Board-Certified Veterinary Nutritionist...it's too bad I'm working for the first time in 2 years, now...I really loved working with animals.

*laughs uncontrollably for five minutes*

OLIVE GARDEN!?!?!

HAHAHAHAHA. Sucker... She'll regret that sooner than later, I'm sure. After all, I know everything there is to know about that jazz.

Yeah, that's what i was thinking too, but she's not working at the same one you used to, so maybe the conditions will be somewhat better. But i've heard tell that the sort of clientele that frequents Olive Garden tend to be really craptactular tippers, so i'm guessing she won't make more money there than at the vet.

Yeah, the tips won't be too great. Not to mention she'll actually be working at the least busy OG in the city, which won't help much either.
