$150 and change is what it will cost to fix my car to "driveablity," at least in terms of the bent strut and a wheel alignment.

Strangely, when i asked the guy if he saw any obvious damage to the engine, his response was "no, when we had it up on the lift, nothing seemed damaged." I asked him if he'd popped the hood to see if, for instance, the smashed quarter panel had possibly protruded into the radiator or some other part of the engine, he seemed to think that he would have been able to see any concievable damage from below the car. I'm not sure i buy that, but i okayed him to fix the strut and do the alignment. I was intending to take Orpheus in to have someone fix the O2 sensor anyway, (i could do it myself, but can't actually reach it just by jacking the car up) so i reckon i could throw another $100 or so into him to fix whatever engine-wise might be screwy that i can't fix myself.

Repairs should be done by Friday at the latest. Wish me luck, i miss my car.

YAY.. Well, not yay that you were in an accident. But yay that the damage was only that much and not a totalled out car that couldn't get fixed. And yeah, they can see up into the firewall for damage. Especially with an over-the-head lift. SIGH. When I get rich, I want an over the head lift. SIGH.
