11:17 pm - A proper update

Tomorrow is "moving most things" day. I've never before had the delicious luxury of having more than a week to actually move things. It's nice, because damndirtyzombie and i waited far too long to phone UHaul, etc. and there wasn't a truck available this weekend, so the time will be necessary.

Luckily, barjack and netan9el, who are also moving soon, were kind enough to offer to provide a vehicle big enough to fetch the larger things. I'm not sure how it's going to work out, as there's a big bed, futon, two desks, and a bookshelf, and i'm not keen on taking up all of barjack and netan9el's time on a Saturday. But i'm sure some combination of wedging things in and strapping mattresses to the top of things will put everything on the right track.

Still hassled about getting to/from work when i'll be near the U and not Tijeras, but i'm sure some Deus Ex Machina will save me (ha!). However, living near the U has delightful advantages. I'll finally be near some of you that i wish i saw more of, i'll be able to bike to places (thanks to netan9el), i can visit the tiny Bartlet (and, you know, imbrium8 too ;), the new place is big and awesome, i get to paint at least one room in colours i picked out, and ooh, i can finally get you all those camo BDU's i promised a few weeks ago. Things are generally looking up for my last six months in Abq.

In other news, i looked at scooters today (yes, ilcylic, i know, i know) and i'm in love with Yamaha Vinos. Can't afford one, of course and will never see one used for a reasonable price, but they're so damned cute. Having thoughts of Getting Out to Do Something this weekend, such as audition for eclypsia and go to DCD newbie night, if it still happens on Sundays. I need a change of...something other than scenery.

Finally, and you're already sick of hearing about it--gird your loins, this is only the beginning--42 days 'till Ireland.

To get in to DCD, going Saturdays is a good way to start. You are going to have to make Tuesday or Thursday practices too, since we can't teach falling or hitting or leaning at Roller King.

I meant Sundays. At roller king. The session is 6-8:30.

I won't be there this week with the achy teethy things and all. My oral surgeon told me no fun until Wednesday.

So, am I moving washers and dryers today or not, then? (I thought the u-haul was for transporting them, so, perhaps not?)

And you can get a scooter if you wish. I certainly can't--and wouldn't think of even trying to--stop you. I just wanted to make sure you knew what a thoroughly terrible idea I think it is.
