Someone shoot me - 1370°C

11:25 pm - Someone shoot me

Previous Entry Share Next Entry

I've found myself somehow addicted to Sex in the City. Not only that, but the censored version broadcast on regular tele. And the kicker is that i *hate* this show. From start to finish, from character to character, i can't bloody stand it. And yet i can't stop watching it.

Current Mood: kill me before i watch again

And erm...find me one of these days. We should do something that doesn't have "oontz" in the background.

You do have my number, ne? three six six, eight nine null seven?

I'm with you. I've become completely hooked. It drives me up the wall.

Excuse me, but Carrie is a sex columnist. I expect her to have something useful to say on the subject of impotence. More useful than the stamp trick.

See, you've just proven you were watching tonight. ;) Of course, i think Dan Savage is a *much* better sex columnist.

And we should rectify that at some point...the never one on one thing. I'm really more interesting that way, i swear. ;P

I am often available for lunch. I prefer to go at one-ish, and I'm near the university. However, I am vehicularly enabled, so I can travel, too.

Shall we have lunch?

I like Entourage. It's basically Sex in the City for guys.

It's much better. ;)

Yeah, but you have cable. I think at least 80% of the reason that ferrousoxide and I are watching SitC now is that it's just now being broadcast.

Oh no, not that show. It's just a bunch of neurotic women continually poking fun at their boyfriends' idiosyncracies.

I'd think you'd prefer a show that's on the same level but actually interesting to watch ... like Desparate Housewives.

See, i just hate the whole notion of the idea of this show. The whole Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus mentality. The whole idea that you have to have *someone* in order to be a whole person, but the fact that your other is somehow un-understandably different. Grrr and snarl.

Also, Sarah Jessica Parker, despite the fact that she bagged Matthew Broderick, is not hot...she's not even cute. And Kim Catrail might have been once, but now she's just sort of old and scary.

As you already know (I think), I tend to agree with your point about the general premise, but it does have a certain "guilty pleasure" appeal, which you seem to have been sucked into.. ;p

But you never mentioned Cynthi Nixon (umm, her character is called Miranda - I think?)...she was generally the most appealing of the lot, largely because she displayed intelligence most of the time and didn't seem to "need" men as much as the others...I remember the last time I saw it thinking she was reasonably hot...

The other two (i really don't know their names) are both cute, but don't get nearly as much show time as they should.

No, i don't feel it's a guilty pleasure. My guilty pleasure is medical and legal dramas. I'm a Law and Order addict and proud of it. I just hate this show and keep watching it to try to understand the appeal (also, as you well know, i like to rant about things like that, so it is a bit fun to heckle it Rocky Horror style while watching). ;P
