When you have rushed home to catch the mail person because you've been waiting for two packages for some time now, you're certain that one will arrive today and fairly sure of the other, it simply does not do to be told that she didn't bother to bring packages with her because she wasn't sure that she'd make it to our complex before the rental office where they usually leave packages closes. It's their bleeding *job* to have your letters and packages with them when they arrive. Sure, sometimes, they might simply have to cart those packages back to the Post Office again, but that seems part of the outrageous price one pays for shipping, rather than something the Post Office does for your convenience.

I know i'm overreacting a bit, because hey, the packages might not even be here (she wouldn't check her pile of package notices because she hadn't yet "gotten to" my mailbox, and i wasn't inclined to wait when she'd already told me she didn't have any packages on her), but it still annoys me. This is quite on par with UPS and the others preferring to leave you a "we missed you" notice rather than bothering to knock at your door to even check if you're home. {snarl}

In non-snarly news, i bought the kitties a drinking fountain. It has a waterfall several inches above the ground that continually pours water through a charcoal filter into a reservoir. They seem to like it quite a lot. Mina in particular has not stopped staring at/playing with it for the last half hour. Maybe she'll even drink out of it at some point ;)

i hate all postal groups, but DHL shipping services right now, (no i dont think them to be any better! they just have not pissed me off yet other than their will-call being inconvenient)

i sent you a package, too. XD

i bought a water thingy for my cat. it isn't a fancy fountain thing, just one of the vacation dispenser type, where it has a bottle you can fill that lasts awhile.

she seems to be both startled and fascinated by the "glug glug" noise it makes every time the water in the bowl gets low enough that it refills. i've caught her attempting to stick her paw up into the bottle a few times... i can't figure out what she hopes to achieve by this.
