10:13 pm - Don't sing This Corrosion to me
The Sisters were brilliant.
The sound was awful. The people in my section of the floor were an annoyance. But getting to hear Andrew Eldrich sing (not from bed in a tent with gothicfurby...not that that wasn't lovely too) was great.
Highlights of the night other than the band: a cute tipsy, normal-looking girl hanging on my shoulders saying something akin to "i want to see what's going on" (mind you, she was taller than me); being assertive enough to do something about the really obnoxious drunk guy trying to mosh in front of me at the beginning of the show (the third time he smashed into me, much to the irritation of everyone around me who were also getting smushed, i snagged a handful of his long red hair and pulled him behind me, where his friends decided they'd take him off to sober up, which he did seem to achieve by the end of the show); the silly ex-UN bouncer next to me who was one of the only people at the show who seemed to know all the words to the songs; the fellow who kept shouting "Sisters" in the silence between every song and complaining about how the Sisters were getting "no love" in Abq (normally, this sort of thing would irk me, but last night, i was simply amused); getting to see and chat with an old friend; talking to sinaesthesia, finding her on lj and learning about lovely creative things to come; heckling aequitus as he was trying to hawk his karaoke night.
We did not go to karaoke, as being up at 6am is simply prohibitive to staying out late. Next week, really, i swear. And of course, in 2 weeks, i'll be bringing the Very British One.
Speaking of...announcement. You all in Abq should be out and about at KGB on March the 2nd if you want to meet the most wonderful, lovely-accented, and likely very knackered, friend of ferrousoxide ever. Fair warning and all that.
