Things to remember today:
-When things are good, be happy. Don't wonder where those good things were months or years ago or when they will end. Just enjoy.
-Missing Dublin does not have to be a crippling experience that makes me regret my decision to do things differently starting when i got there. We're all connected all the time. I can't just walk down Grafton Street for fun, but everyone i care about is only a few digital packets away.
-Letting oneself write crap is truly craptacular. But it's also kinda fun.
-Buy more fuzzy socks.
Unrelated: When did the "My LJ" link appear? It's neat.
Also unrelated: My mom is bugging me for my xmas present list. When i was a kid, this was very easy to accomplish. However, now i have a hard time thinking of what i might want that isn't ludicrously expensive or hard to find. I'm sure my mother would not appreciate a list that went something like: a plane ticket to Dublin, some brand new video game system, several out-of-print/rare/foreign CDs/DVDs, new computer hardware, vintage this-or-that, more bookmaking materials, etc. And of course, asking for Whirled Peas never works.
Final unrelated: As a going-away present when i was leaving Dublin, i got a lovely wooden box that's very neat, but i don't own anything small enough to store in it. I've decided i'm going to make a truly tiny book that fits into it exactly and has a sort of handle on the top so it can be pulled out of the box easily. I'm trying to decide if this should be a Jacob's Ladder or Accordion style book (so that when one pulls it out it will slowly unfold) or if i should just make it a normal sort of journal but miniaturised.
